5 Tips for Storing E-Liquid

Electronic cigarettes have become exceptionally common, and many people are still adjusting to the new requirements of using such a device. Most e-cigarettes use a form of liquid as a source for flavored vapor often mixed with a concentration of nicotine, and many users want to keep a stash of the liquid available so they can use it at their leisure. There are some tips you should follow if you want to store e-liquid in your home.

Containers

E-liquids are typically sold in containers designed specifically for storing them, so you shouldn’t have to transfer them to a secondary container. In most cases, the e-liquids are sold in either glass or plastic containers, and many of them come with dropper caps that are designed to help transfer the liquid to the device. Keeping the liquids in their original containers also makes it easy for others to know what they are.

Seals

Make sure the caps on your e-liquids are sealed tightly. A secure seal will prevent the liquid from spilling out in the event the bottle is dropped or tipped over. Make sure to turn the cap as much as you can if it screws on, and try to store the bottles in an area where they can stand upright.

Contact

The e-liquid can irritate the skin if it makes contact in its pure form, so be sure to avoid skin contact. If you should happen to get the liquid on your skin or in your eyes, wash the area immediately with soap and water. There are no long-term effects if the liquid contacts your skin, but contact should still be avoided to prevent any irritation or burning.

Spills

If you spill the liquid and it doesn’t make contact with your skin, you’ll want to clean up the liquid as quickly as possible. The best way to clean the liquid is with soap and water, so you’ll have no trouble with any accidents. Spills that aren’t cleaned could dry and leave poisonous residue.

Ingestion

Pure e-liquid could be poisonous if ingested in large enough quantities thanks to the liquid nicotine, so you should contact poison control if any accidental ingestion occurs. This is especially true if you have children and they ingest any of the substance, which shouldn’t happen if you store these liquids properly.

One of the most important things you can do to prevent any issues with storing these liquids is to teach your children that the liquids are not for them to touch or use. You should also store them in a place that can’t be easily reached by your children. If you follow these tips, you’ll be sure to have no issues storing your e-liquids.
